Collection: Vintage Blazer – upcycling

The jacket has always been seen as an elegant product, dedicated to work or as a wardrobe item worn on special occasions.

For me, the jacket has become a symbol of tailoring, the old school of design. I remember the first vintage treasures in the form of jackets from former establishments, such as Bytom from the '70s or Italian manufacturers. Each carefully selected piece allows you to momentarily travel through time and imagine who might have worn it and for what occasions.

Today, we have access to a wide range of styles and materials from which jackets are made, but is the quality, timelessness, and durability at least satisfactory?

I look for the best in terms of craftsmanship, material composition (cashmere, silk, linen, finer and thicker wool – viscose lining), texture, and how they drape when worn, always considering whether it will also fit a women's figure, because who today doesn't look for an oversized jacket? Even men are searching for them.

What’s next? I refresh such a jacket, usually at the dry cleaners, and repair it when needed: I replace the lining, buttons.

Then I proceed to choose one of the modification techniques (usually upcycling), enhancing it, and adding various details such as buttons, ties, fabrics, fragments of tablecloths, curtains, etc. All of this takes place at TOMASZ PŁUSKA CREATIVE SEWING STUDIO in GDYNIA - DOWNTOWN.

  • The cut and shape of the jackets are, in most cases, "OVERSIZE."

  • To choose a well-fitting jacket, please check the measurements provided in the description of each project.

Vintage jacket materials typically found in the projects are:

wool, cashmere, silk, linen, viscose, cotton.
